As we look forward to the summer of 2025, Yosemite National Park has implemented an entrance reservation system to help manage visitor numbers and protect the park’s natural beauty—ensuring a more enjoyable experience for all.

When are Yosemite Entrance Reservations Required?

You’ll need a reservation to drive into or through Yosemite between 6 am and 2 pm on the following dates:

  • May 24–26 (Memorial Day Weekend): Reservation required Saturday–Monday
  • May 27–June 14: No reservation required

  • June 15–August 15: Reservation required daily
  • August 16–29: No reservation required

  • August 30–September 1 (Labor Day Weekend): Reservation required Saturday–Monday

Note: Peak-hours reservations are valid for three consecutive days, including your arrival date. You do not need to arrive on the first date of your reservation.

When Can I Make an Entrance Reservation?

All dates open on May 6, 2025, at 8 am PDT via Recreation.gov

Additional reservations become available at 8 am PDT seven days before the arrival date.

How Can I Make an Entrance Reservation?

Have a Recreation.gov account ready and be logged in at 8 am PT on the day your tickets are released. Tickets do sell out, so be prepared by bookmarking the page and setting an alarm.

If you don’t have computer access, you can call 877-444-6777 to make a reservation.

Does Everyone Need an Entrance Reservation?

Nope! You do NOT need a reservation if you:

  • Take YARTS public transit (there are bus stops conveniently located at Yosemite View Lodge and Yosemite Cedar Lodge)
  • Book an authorized guided tour
  • Hold a Half Dome or wilderness permit
  • Enter before 6 am or after 2 pm
  • Visit during May 27–June 14 or August 16–29
