Yosemite National Park remains open during the government shutdown, with all of its breathtaking natural wonders still accessible. While some services are limited, visitors can continue to explore the park’s beauty with a little extra preparation and mindfulness.
- All Yosemite Resorts properties remain open and operating as usual.
- Park gates are open but unstaffed. Entry fees are not being collected during this time.
- Food and other services remain available through Yosemite Hospitality.
- Roads, trails are accessible.
- Emergency and maintenance services continue, though at a reduced level.
Visitors are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, respect posted closures, and practice the Nature Rules Guidelines to help protect Yosemite.
With Yosemite National Park Service staff facing significant challenges and limited resources during the shutdown, we ask all visitors to practice Leave No Trace and help protect this extraordinary place for everyone.
The Yosemite Welcome Center located in Yosemite Valley is closed. Visitor information centers in gateway communities remain open. For Yosemite maps and other information, stop at a visitor center before entering the park:
Arch Rock Entrance via Hwy 140 – Mariposa County Visitor Center
Southern Entrance via Hwy 41 – Oakhurst Visitor Center
Buck Meadows Entrance via Hwy 120 – Sonora Visitor Center
